The 11-point ban imposed by the government to prevent corona infection and new type of corona Omicron is going to start in the country from today (Thursday). Mobile courts will also be conducted to ensure hygiene. Last Monday, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding the 11-point restriction. Meanwhile, for the first time in the country, Omicron was identified in the bodies of three people outside Dhaka yesterday. A total of 33 people were infected with Omicron in the last one month till yesterday.

Experts said that if these restrictions are properly observed, the upward trend of corona infection can be curbed within the next two weeks. And if the restrictions are not properly complied with, then the overall restrictions like lockdown will have to be clamped. In that case, everyone will have to face losses.

President of the Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sahidullah told the media that the restrictions are good enough. If we can implement each one then each one will help to reduce the infection at an individual rate. Collectively, these 11-point restrictions will play a significant role in controlling corona.

Adviser to the government's Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) and former chief scientific officer Dr. Mushtaq Hossain said that these restrictions have to be implemented by all because when the infection increases, the hospitals are full of patients, then the government will be forced to go for overall restrictions. Then public transport, restaurants, shops, offices and courts will all be closed. So we have to maintain normal activities for a long time by enforcing partial restrictions.

Railway authorities have decided to transport half of the passengers in the country's intercity trains during the restrictions. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has said that public transport should be operated on old fares. However, even though the fare has not been increased, the owner has asked for permission to transport as many passengers as there are seats. These two decisions will be effective from next Saturday.

The 11-point restriction is that: Everyone must wear a mask in all public places, including shops, shopping malls and markets, buyers and sellers, and hotels and restaurants; Masks must be used outside the office and court. Mobile courts should be set up across the country to prevent any deviation in hygiene compliance; Corona Vaccine Certificate must be displayed for meals at hotel-restaurants and for accommodation in residential hotels; All students above 12 years of age will not be allowed to enter the educational institution without the vaccination certificate after the date fixed by the Ministry of Education; The number of screenings at land ports, seaports and airports should be increased. The crew at the port should not come out of the ship. There will be only drivers with the trucks coming to the land ports. No assistant will be allowed to come out of the port. Visitors will be barred from entering the airport with foreigners; Trains, buses and launches will carry half the capacity of passengers. The concerned authorities will issue specific instructions in this regard along with the date of implementation. Drivers and assistants must be vaccinated against corona; Passengers from abroad must have a COVID vaccine certificate. Once in the country, they need to be tested by rapid antigen; Imams will warn about the observance of hygiene rules and wearing a mask in the sermon of Friday prayers in the mosque. Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officers will confirm the matter; The Ministry of Health will take necessary publicity and initiatives to expedite corona vaccine and booster doses. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will assist them; Social, political, religious ceremonies and gatherings will be closed in the open until further notice and the local administration will be able to take action in consultation with the concerned if any special situation arises in any area.
