New rules in public transports from today

Public transport will run according to the changed rules from Saturday in compliance with the government instructions to prevent corona infection. The bus will carry as many passengers as there are seats according to the hygiene rules. However, standing passengers cannot be carried on the bus in any way. Launches and trains will leave half the seats vacant. Everyone has to wear a mask. Sanitizer should be kept on the bus. Drivers and workers will not be able to drive the bus without a Corona Vaccine certificate.

Railway Secretary Humayun Kabir said the train would carry passengers leaving half of the seats vacant from Saturday in compliance with government directives.

According to BIWTA sources, the fare will not increase even if the launch travels with half the seats vacant.

Khondoker Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners' Association, said there would be a crisis in public transport if buses were run with everything open and half-empty seats. Passengers will not get a bus. The BRTA chairman verbally confirmed that the bus would run with 'as many seats as there are passengers'.

The government has imposed 11-point restrictions on corona infections as the infection started increasing at an alarming rate. The countrymen will have to abide by these restrictions from last Thursday until further notice. These restrictions include banning all social, political, and religious gatherings and gatherings in the open. It was mentioned in the notification of the Cabinet Division that the Ministry of Road Transport will take a decision regarding the control of passenger transport in public transport.

Meanwhile, coronavirus infection is on the rise in the country. The number of patients has increased to 1,019 in one day. In the last 24 hours (8 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday) 4,378 people were identified and 6 died. On August 26 last year, 4,698 more patients were identified in one day. In other words, after 5 and half months, the number of patients rose to 4 thousand again. Earlier in the day, 3,359 people were identified and 12 died.
