State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said that BNP has entered into an agreement with three lobbyist companies in the United States to carry out propaganda against Bangladesh.
Three documents have been found in this regard, the main address of which has been given the name of the office of the Naya Paltan of the BNP. The BNP has spent 3.75 million dollars on these agreements.The state minister for foreign affairs told reporters at his office on Tuesday (January 18).
He said that the name of the person who has signed the agreement on behalf of BNP is Abdus Sattar and the name of the American lobbyist company is Blue Star Strategic LMC. The deal, signed in 2018, cost 1 million dollar. In all, the three contracts cost 3.75 million dollars.
Shahriar Alam said hiring lobbyists is normal in the United States. They are in the process. Of these, 6 groups including BNP have been found.
He said the agreements would be sent to the governor of Bangladesh Bank today. These agreements have been made using the address of BNP. So it can be assumed that BNP has given this money to make this agreement. If this money has been taken with the permission of Bangladesh Bank - if not then Bangladesh Bank as a responsible institution will inform the Election Commission as per the prevailing law of Bangladesh. And hopefully the Election Commission will take the necessary action.
He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami has entered into agreements with four other lobbyist companies. They opened an organization called Peace and Justice.
