Just as the first Falgun or spring is our cultural occasion, so too the political significance of this month is infinite. The red color of Shimul and Krishnacura in Fagun reminds us of the martyrs of Bayannar Fagun. The language reminds us of the history of the blood of the martyrs. In this month Rafiq, Safiq, Barkat, Salam gave their lives for our mother tongue Bengali language. The independence of Bangladesh came down the ladder of their blood. That is why Falgun is also the month of Bengali rebellion.
