Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to take steps to bring all the citizens above 60 years of age under the pension facility. She also saw a presentation on 'Introduction to Universal Pension System' organized by the Finance Division on Thursday.
The Prime Minister gave various instructions on the strategy paper prepared in the light of international experience, context and economic potential of Bangladesh. She directed the Finance Division to take urgent steps to enact legislation to introduce a universal pension system.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus, Senior Secretary of the Finance Division Abdur Rauf Talukder, Senior Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Tofazzal Hossain Mia, Economic Relations Division Secretary Fatima Yasmin, Planning Secretary Pradeep Ranjan Chakraborty and other senior officials were present.
