Dhaka: Ekushey means not bowing one's head. Ekushey means the inexhaustible consciousness of establishing linguistic, cultural, socio-economic and political rights. Following the bloody path of 21st February, 1952, on the streets of Dhaka, the Bengali nation revived the movement for the establishment of self-identity and built a stepping stone to the independence of Bangladesh. Ekushey February has built a monument of heroic self-identity and rights of Bengalis with vigilant consciousness.

Ekushey's bright spirit has awakened the rights of Bengalis all over the world in the form of a seed of message. There has been a bloody movement for Bengali language in the Barak Valley of Assam. Ekushey's Great Spirit in protecting the identity and cultural dignity of the Bengalis of South Asia and the world is constantly inspiring the burning flame.

Ekushey's historic achievement has made Bengalis economically, socially, culturally and politically glorious in the eyes of the world. As a result, if eclipse is in the grip of linguistic, social, cultural and political domination, every Bengali in the world and every person struggling for the establishment of linguistic-cultural rights is protesting in the protesting thoughts and spirit of Ekushey.

Why do people protest when their mother tongue is lost or attacked? Why do people patiently shed blood to protect the language of the mouth, the honor and dignity of the mother tongue? Why do issues of economic, social, political and cultural rights come to the fore with language?

Because language is not just an alphabet consisting of vowels and consonants but language is the applied medium of human consciousness, faith, culture, philosophy, way of life and practice. The mother tongue is the bridge between man and the world. The vehicle of his action, creation, thought, expression, activity. It is in this language that people are intimately involved with the roots of their own traditions.

As a result, taking away the language means taking away the history, tradition, existence and identity, to make him immobile and motionless to ruin his life and livelihood. The first step in aggression is to take away the language of the mouth.

That is why when the Pakistani ruling class wanted to take away the Bengali language, the Bengali nation was in a fierce protest. Because, after snatching the language, the Pakistani junta was ready to snatch the culture, identity and rights. The conspiracy to corner and endanger the Bengalis in jobs, business, politics, society and culture was thwarted by the Bengalis on the 21st of February.

Not only that, by crossing the ladder of language movement, Bengalis accelerated the struggle for socio-economic and political rights and finally achieved an independent, sovereign Bangladesh through bloody struggle.

The sleepless, indefatigable spirit of Ekushey has given the direction of liberation to Bangladesh and Bengalis as well as the radiant courage to continue on the path of development and progress. The motivation to move forward with self-identity and self-respect lies in Ekushey's vigilant awareness. The entire nation pays deep respect to the language martyrs and language soldiers on the eve of the immortal Ekushey right moment and is announcing the victory message of Bangladesh and Bengalis with a solemn oath to move forward irresistibly.
