Dhaka: All vaccination centers in the country are open on today (Friday), a public holiday. People will get any dose of Corona vaccine whenever they go to any center like other days. The government has decided to vaccinate 70 percent of the population on holidays by Saturday.
The Directorate of Health took an immediate decision on Thursday. In the afternoon, a written instruction was sent to all the institutions and officials involved in the vaccination program, including government hospitals, civil surgeons in different districts and various jab centers.
Director and Line Director of the Directorate of Health and Member Secretary of the Cavid-19 Vaccine Management Taskforce Committee Dr. Shamsul Haque signed written directive said that the mass vaccination program to be held on February 26 which has created a lot of excitement across the country and overflowing crowds are being observed at the vaccination centers. In order to meet this great enthusiasm and demand for vaccines in the minds of the people, all the Kavid-19 vaccination centers across the country will be kept open on Friday 25th February and if necessary, additional centers or booths will be used to continue the vaccination activities.
According to the Directorate of Health's vaccine data, the first dose of vaccine was taken by 7 lakh 49 thousand 462 people on 19 February and 8 lakh 55 thousand 307 people on 20 February. The number of first-dose vaccinations has almost doubled since then. 16 lakh 46 thousand 422 people were vaccinated on one day on 22nd February, 15 lakh 49 thousand 813 people were vaccinated on the next day 23rd February.
