Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Chhatra League played a leading role in any need of the country. The establishment of this organization was for the liberation of Bengalis. They always stand by people. They also cut the farmer's paddy.
She said this while addressing as the chief guest at the Chhatra League rally at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Friday (September 1).
The Prime Minister said that Khaleda Zia handed over arms to Chhatra Dal to destroy the Awami League. The country cannot progress in the hands of illiterate fools. They cannot work for the welfare of people.
She said that Chhatra League played a role in any disaster in the country. They never back down. They did not compromise even during 1-11. At that time there was a state of emergency. Yet they came forward.
The Prime Minister said that today's Chhatra League is an organization created by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They were closely involved with every movement-struggle and achievement of the country.
