The Chief Election Commissioner has instructed the field administration to prevent all kinds of irregularities, rigging and encroachment to exercise the vote freely. He gave this information in the briefing after Khulna divisional meeting in Jashore.
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal held this meeting with DC-SP, UNO-OC of 10 districts of Khulna division and Faridpur, Gopalganj and Rajbari districts of Dhaka division.
290 officials of DC-SP, UNO-OC, BGB and Ansar forces were present in this meeting held at Sheikh Hasina ICT Park Auditorium in Jashore on Friday (December 22).
The Chief Election Commissioner said in the briefing that the election will be held neutral and peaceful at any cost. The law and order situation in the election field is good. He mentioned that the Returning Officers have to perform the main duties to complete the elections properly.
He said, 'Only election workers will be inside the polling station. It should be ensured that there will be no irregularity or rigging and occupancy. It will ensure that voters can exercise their vote freely.
In response to the questions of the journalists, he said that the attacks that are happening in different places are being investigated. Appropriate action will be taken after receiving the investigation report.
Divisional Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif presided over the meeting organized by Khulna Divisional Commissioner's Office and Jashore District Administration. Election Commission Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam was present as a special guest in the meeting.
Besides, the Chief Election Commissioner exchanged views with 32 candidates of 6 parliamentary constituencies of Jashore at the same place at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
