The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification banning the carrying and display of firearms by firearm license holders until January 9 following the schedule announced with the aim of conducting the 12th JS elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
This information was circulated in a notification signed by Israt Jahan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Friday (December 22).
It said that legal action will be taken against violators of the order as per the provisions of the relevant section of The Arms Act, 1878.
