Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that BNP-Jamaat has entered the field in a terrible manner in the name of preventing the elections and said that the people of the country will decide whether the elections will be held or not. But no one will be allowed to play with people's destiny.
She said we want to make the election peaceful. Whoever the people vote for will be elected. The trend of democracy and development in the country should be continued. Awami League wants a peaceful election.
On Saturday (December 23) afternoon, she said these things while joining the video public meetings of 6 districts from Dhaka district Awami League building in Tejgaon of the capital.
She said that BNP is a group of terrorists and Jamaat is a group of war criminals. The country must be kept free from terrorist and war criminal gangs.
She also said that the way BNP-Jamaat tortured the people of the country while in power cannot be expressed in words. A comparison can be made with the Pakistani invading forces in 1971.
Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh has changed because we have been in power since 2009, we have progressed unprecedentedly in all indicators. The trend of development should be maintained. BNP is again doing terrible arson attacks in the name of preventing elections like in the past. BNP could not have done these things if it had a sense of humanity. Who is their leader? Even though those who wanted to kill me (Khaleda Zia) were criminals, I allowed her to stay at home.
Sheikh Hasina said that those who are terrorizing fire on the order of Tareq Zia should be partakers of their sins, saying that nothing will happen to Tareq Zia. He'd be better off gambling. He does not come to the country. If you have courage, come to the country. People will take revenge for this fire and terror.
Awami League held election rallies in Kushtia, Jhenaidah and Satkhira districts of Khulna division, Barguna district of Barishal division, Netrakona district of Mymensingh division and Rangamati district of Chattogram division. Apart from Awami League president Sheikh Hasina, central leaders, concerned district Awami League, upazila, thana, municipal Awami League, union, ward Awami League leaders and boat symbol candidates of the respective districts were present.
