Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen said, I have given instructions to the concerned officials this morning (January 17) to close all illegal clinics, diagnostic centers and illegal health centers that have been established all over the country. I have asked the officials how many illegal clinics, diagnostic centers and health centers there actually are in the country. Whatever the number may be, our drive to close down these illegal health centers will be launched soon. In the meantime, it is better if the owners of the illegal clinic-diagnostic centers shut down themselves, otherwise we will take necessary action."

On Wednesday (January 17) afternoon after laying floral wreath on the graves of the martyrs of August 15, 1975 including Sheikh Kamal, Health minister’s friend.

The Health Minister said that we will work to reach the health care level at the village level. If the quality doctors who are providing treatment in Dhaka Medical are sent to district-upzilla hospitals, then the work becomes easier. And if the facilities of the doctors are good, they will definitely be interested to work at the district-upazila level. All in all, our goal is to improve the quality of healthcare for the people of the country and we will do that.

Talking about the health minister's childhood friend Sheikh Kamal, the health minister said that if Sheikh Kamal, the father of the nation's elder son, was alive, the hands of our Prime Minister Bangabandhu's eldest daughter Sheikh Hasina would have been much stronger. Sheikh Hasina could have turned Bangladesh into a developed country faster with that strong hand. But the assassins have done a lot of damage.

The health minister recalled his childhood and said that Sheikh Kamal used to think a lot about the country. Some of us were his close friends. As we have seen, he (Sheikh Kamal) was very interested in the development of sports. He encouraged and sponsored sports so that Bangladesh could play in harmony with the world. If he was alive today, Bangladesh would have progressed faster in all aspects including sports.

Along with the Health Minister, Mr. Badal, the childhood friend of the Father of the Nation's eldest son, Sheikh Kamal, along with the officials of the Ministry were present.
