Due to dense fog, the authorities have stopped the ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route.
On Wednesday (January 17), ferries were stopped from 1:30 am to avoid accidents in the river area.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation Aricha Office Commercial Department Manager Salam Hossain said that since Wednesday evening, heavy fog started falling in the Paturia-Daulatdia route area and the light of the ferry's marking lights became obscured at midnight.
Due to this, there is a risk of accidents in ferry traffic in the river area. Due to which the authorities have stopped the ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route. Salam Hossain said that once the fog subsides in the river area, ferry traffic will be normal again.
