Shelters opened for residents of Bandarban border

From GhumDhum Border: Large-scale clashes are taking place inside Myanmar between the Junta forces and the armed group Arakan Army. Mortar shells and shells are coming to the border area. In such a situation, the Bandarban district administration has opened a shelter for the residents of the border area.

Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin visited the border on Tuesday (February 6) and said these things.

The Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban said that due to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar, there is tension on the border with Bangladesh. So we have opened 2 shelters for people in border areas. Our appeal is that the people of the border areas should go to shelters. I have also talked to the higher authorities and if it seems dangerous then I will take everyone to the shelter.

He said that activities have been started to send back or push back those who have taken refuge in Bangladesh from Myanmar. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Public Security Department and Cabinet Division are continuing the activities. We hope to complete their repatriation process as soon as possible.

The Deputy Commissioner also said that the situation at the Naikshangchari border of Bandarban has come under control a little more than before.

Bandarban Superintendent of Police Saikat Shaheen said, BGB, police, intelligence agency and Deputy Commissioner are working together. We are doing whatever kind of assistance is being sought from BGB. We will do it if I need more help.

The Superintendent of Police also said, "We are putting the most emphasis on preventing Rohingya infiltration." We are working to provide security to the people of this area. A large number of police have already been deployed. We are working to maintain a law and order situation.
