Four people were killed in a collision between an easy bike and a truck carrying bricks on the Khulna-Satkhira highway. All the victims were passengers of easy bikes.
The accident took place at Angardoha culvert area of Kharnia Union of Dumuria Upazila at around 3:30 pm on Saturday (February 10). 3 more seriously injured people have been admitted to Dumuria Upazila Health Complex.
The deceased are Sabbir Morol (23) of Angardoha village of Kharnia union of Dumuria upazila, Biswajit Biswas (30) the easy bike driver of Jieltala village of Shobna union, Nipa Dhali (25) of Bilpabla village of Gutudia union and an unidentified woman (26).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dumuria police station Sukanta Saha said that a collision occurred between a truck and a passenger easy bike. Two dead bodies were recovered from the spot. Besides, it is said that two people died after being taken to the hospital.
After the accident, the Khulna-Satkhira highway was blocked for almost an hour. Later, Dumuria police, highway police and fire service members tried to restore traffic flow.
