Barrister Shihab Uddin, a member of the university senate, commented that the university administration is indifferent to sexual harassment and drug abuse in the solidarity rally organized by the 'anti-repression forum'.

He said, a few days before the incident of sexual harassment, newcomer 52nd batch entered the Jahangirnagar University. Despite being the only residential university in the country, the university administration physically deprived them of classes, did not give them seats in the hall. This proves that the university administration does not care about the future of the students.

He said these things at the solidarity rally organized by the anti-repression stage at the transport square of the university on Saturday (February 10) at 4:30 pm. The program of the torch procession on Sunday evening was announced from the rally.

The participants in the rally made five-point demands. The demands are to ensure maximum punishment for rapists and their accomplices; Accommodate regular students by evicting illegal students from halls and abolishing common rooms culture and bring to justice those involved in ragging culture; The oppressor teacher Mahmudur Rahman Johnny should be brought to justice at various times on the campus; Proctor and Mir Musharraf Hussain Hall Provost who assisted the oppressors should be investigated for their crimes and relieved from administrative posts pending investigation in the interest of a fair investigation; Legal action should be taken against those involved in identifying drug syndicates by declaring them uninvited in the campus.

Kanoj Kanti Roy, a student of the same department spoke the forum moderated by Sohagi Samia, a student of the drama and dramaturgy department of the university. Mentioning common room culture as a result of the illegal union of the university administration and BCL, he said in his speech that the perverted brain of this administration wants students to stay in the common room every time, get addicted to drugs, stay away from some kind of immoral practices and struggle for rights. Our common room culture, violence of Chhatra League and the neglect of the administration, students gradually grow up with a crippled and deformed brain. Students spend their first year in the dark in the common room. The second year is spent in the mini mass room and the third year is spent in a kind of drug addiction. When these students are conscious, there is no ground under their feet.

The university's senate-syndicate has become an ineffective institution, Professor Md. Jamaluddin said 'Rape in the university is not an isolated incident. This is a problem with our system. This rape is only an effect. Drug trade, a cycle of various crimes is working with this system. Unfortunately, this university administration appears to be a part of that system.

Parveen Joli, Professor of the university's History department, said, "We have seen the news of Chhatra League's oppression of women in the headlines before and are still seeing it. Times have changed but the title hasn't. The character of the perpetrators of rape and torture has not changed. So far, the name of Chhatra League has been mentioned everywhere from the Century Manik to Mostafiz. No matter how much they say that Mostafiz is not a member of our party, the Chhatra League cannot avoid the responsibility of this rape.

Mohammad Golam Rabbani, Professor of History Department, Sohail Ahmed, Professor of Biochemistry and Bioscience Department also spoke in the gathering.

Arif Sohail and Abdullah Al Noman, students of the International Relations Department of the University, Sathi Mazumder, former general secretary of Jahangirnagar Theatre, Sami Al Zahid, former general secretary of Jahangirnagar Alliance, Shamshul Alam Salim, professor of Government and Politics, Mafurhi Sattar, Professor of Pharmacy Department also addressed the rally.
