State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that a smart postal department will be developed for a prosperous smart Bangladesh of the future.

He said service delivery, banking, e-commerce and insurance. These 4 services public-private and media partnership will build a smart postal department for future prosperous smart Bangladesh. I strongly believe that the smart postal department will play an important role in creating a prosperous smart Bangladesh and smart economy.

He said all this in response to questions from reporters after inaugurating the newly-constructed main post office under the physical infrastructure development and expansion project of the Directorate of Posts at Kushtia main post office premises on Saturday (March 9) night.

He said, in the last 15 years, we have created skilled human resources, made the internet accessible; As a result, 10 lakh jobs were created in the IT sector, 13 lakh Internet users were created and ICT was established as an export sector. Our next step is to build Smart Bangladesh. With the aim of building a Smart Bangladesh based on 4 pillars, we will increase the quality and scope of service of all the service providers of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and present each of our institutions as smart institutions.

He also mentioned that the postal department of 64 districts of the country will be converted from non-profit organizations to profitable organizations within the next 6 months under the Smart Bangladesh Building.

At that time Additional Deputy Commissioner Mizanur Rahman, Additional Deputy Postmaster General Aminur Rahman, Kushtia Deputy Postmaster Mirazul Haque, Deputy Postmaster General (EMC) Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Kushtia Head Post Office Postmaster Abul Kalam Asad, Super Alok Kumar Biswas and local politicians and media personnel were present.

Later, the Minister inspected the progress of construction of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at Kalishankpur.
