Metro will run for an extra hour during Ramadan, water bottles can be carried

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director (MD) M.A.N. Siddique said that the train running time will increase by one hour during the last 15 days of the upcoming month of Ramadan.

He said that there will be no change in metro rail running time for the first 15 days of the upcoming Ramadan month. However, the last 15 days train running time will increase by one hour. The last train from Motijheel will leave at 9:40 PM and the last train from Uttara will leave at 9:00 PM.

Managing Director of the organization M.A.N. Siddique gave this information in a press conference organized at Pravasi Kalyan Bhaban in Iskaton of the capital on Sunday (March 10) afternoon.

In response to the question whether there will be an extra hour at the end of Ramadan, he said that the decision will be taken based on passenger demand.

He said, 250 ml bottles can be carried before and after Iftar time. In this case, the water bottle must be thrown in the bin. It can't be thrown anywhere. Iftar schedule will be displayed on LED screens inside and outside the train.

About the location of the paid zone, he said, passengers will be tired during the month of Ramadan. So considering them, you can stay 75 minutes after entering the paid zone by punching the card. It used to be 60 Minutes. It will return to 60 minutes at the end of Ramadan.

In response to the question whether it is possible to increase another coach for women, he said that currently 6 coaches are running, it is not possible to increase a separate coach for women until T coaches are introduced in the future. Metro rail will not run on Eid day.
