A young man named Arnav (27) was shot dead in a clash between two groups over the dominance of the Laguna stand in Shrimantacha of Cumilla city. Three more people were shot in this incident. They are being treated at the trauma hospital in the city.
The deceased Arnav is the son of Azhar Uddin of the same area.
The incident happened on Friday (March 15) around 2 pm.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cumilla Kotwali Police Station Firoz Hossain confirmed the matter.
According to local sources, there was a long-standing dispute between the Abul Kashem group of Madhyampara area and Mullah Bari Rabbi-Alauddin Gong over the supremacy of the Laguna stand. Due to this, Arnab, a follower of Abul Kashem group was shot dead in the clash.
