3 MoUs signed with Bhutan

Three MoUs have been signed and one agreement has been renewed between Bangladesh and Bhutan.

The MoUs were signed at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday (March 25) in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan.

The agreements are – establishment of a burn and plastic surgery unit in Thimpu, establishment of a Special Economic Zone for Bhutan in Kurigram and technical cooperation in consumer protection. Besides, an agreement regarding cooperation in the cultural field of the two countries was renewed.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan held a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the state level on the first day of his four-day visit to Bangladesh. The King of Bhutan arrived at the Prime Minister's office shortly after 1 pm to attend the state level meeting At this time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina welcomed the state guest at Tigergate

Later, the two top leaders held a private meeting. Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan was present at this time. Later, a delegation level meeting was held there finally, three MoUs were signed and one agreement was renewed between Bangladesh and Bhutan in the presence of the two leaders.

King Jigme Khesar of Bhutan arrived in Dhaka on a four-day state visit this morning. President Md. Sahabuddin welcomed him as a state guest at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. He was given a red carpet reception.
