Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury said that UNESCO did not give Peace Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus any award called 'The Tree of Peace'. He warned that legal action will be taken against Yunus Center if it does not stop spreading false information.
He said this while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday (March 27).
The Minister of Education said that the award given by an Israeli sculptor. Muhammad Yunus fraudulently promoted the award of UNESCO. An explanation will be sent to the UNESCO headquarters in this regard. It is humiliating for Bangladesh.
Earlier, Yunus Center said in a press release last Thursday, Dr. Muhammad Yunus was awarded 'The Tree of Peace' prize by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
It should be noted that 10 years ago in 2014, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also received the UNESCO ' The Tree of Peace’ award. This award was given to her in recognition of the promotion of education for women and girls.
