The police rescued a young woman chained from a building in Mohammadpur Nabinagar housing in the capital. Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident of raping, torturing and recording the video of the young woman in captivity.
According to the police, a lawyer named Masood had a romantic relationship with the victim. But Masud, a lawyer, is enraged because she has an affair with a boy named Sun in his absence. So to take revenge, Sun and his friends chained the girl up and brutally physically and sexually abused her with the lure of money. Salma cooperated in this. He used to create videos of torture and perverted sex acts and sent those to Masud who was stationed abroad.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Tejgaon Division of DMP HM Azimul Haque said this at his office at Shyamoli in the capital on Monday (1 April).
He said that the victim's boyfriend Sun and his two friends Himel, Rocky and Salma alias Jhumur were arrested from different areas of the capital on Sunday night.
Narrating the incident, he said that the victim was staying at her elder sister's house as her parents got separated and later got married elsewhere. At that time, she met a lawyer named Masud through her sister-in-law. She used to live together with lawyer Masud. However, Masud stayed abroad most of the time. He used to live with that young woman in the country. Through Masud, the young woman met Salma alias Jhumur, the wife of an expatriate. At one point, the young woman went to a rented flat in Nabinagar with Salma. All expenses were borne by Masud. Later, they met a young man named San through Jhumur and developed a love relationship between them. And this made Masud angry.
Later, Masud joined hands with his lover San to discipline the victim. Salma lured them with money to work under Masud's guidance. A hidden camera was placed in the girl's room. At various times the scenes of San and his friend Himel having physical relations with the victim were secretly recorded and sent to Masud. Videos have been sent this way for a long time.
DC Tejgaon also said that when the victim came to know about the secret video making, she was tortured. Shackle torture started. San and his friends used to tie hands, feet and face and torture them demonically. Every moment of which was captured on video and sent to Masud.
DC Azim said, on March 29 around 9 pm, the victim was rescued by calling the National Emergency Service 999 while chained. That evening the girl was given sleeping pills. When the victim fell asleep, Salma, San and others go outside. After a while, when the victim woke up and screamed as no one was home, passers-by called 999 and informed the police. The police went and rescued her from the fourth floor of a multi-storey building in Nabinagar. He is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
