MV Abdullah, along with 23 sailors, has been freed a month after being taken hostage by Somali pirates. The ship is now bound for the United Arab Emirates.

Mizanul Islam, media advisor of the ship's owner KSRM, confirmed the matter on Saturday (April 13) night.

He said, 'All our sailors have been freed. Details will be announced at a press conference at KSRM's head office on Sunday (April 14) at 12 noon.

Bandits took the MV Abdullah hostage in the Indian Ocean on its way to the United Arab Emirates from Maputo port in Mozambique on March 12 at 1:30 pm Bangladesh time. The ship was later towed off the coast of Somalia. The ship was anchored there for so long. The ship has 55 thousand tons of coal. After 9 days of taking the ship hostage, the bandits contacted the owner. However, the owner has not said anything about the ransom so far. However, on the day of Eid, seeing all the sailors taking pictures with smiling faces, many thought that reconciliation might be at the last stage. Now that the sailors are free, that idea is correct.

MV Abdullah, a bulk carrier weighing 45,653 deadweight tons (DWT), has a length overall (LOA) of 185.74 meters and a beam of 30.4 meters.
