Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3) seized a large quantity of unauthorized homeopathy medicines from Demra area of the capital.
These drugs were seized from Itakhola area under Demra police station on Monday (June 10) evening by conducting the anti-adulteration mobile court.
RAB-3 Staff Officer (Media) Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Shamim Hossain confirmed this information.
Md. Shamim Hossain said that on the basis of intelligence, RAB-3 came to know that there is a large quantity of unauthorized homeopathy medicines in the godown of Dhaka Homeo Hall in Itakhola area of Demra police station of the capital. Later, the mobile court was jointly conducted by the raiding team and the Department of Drug Administration at the godown of Dhaka Homeo Hall.
At that time, 296 liters of unlicensed adulterated liquids of 9 types out of 24 types of homeo medicines stored in the godown were seized.
At the same time, legal action was taken by the Drug Administration Department against Abdul Alim (55), the owner of the said organization, for the crime of storing unlicensed adulterated drugs for sale in the godown.
He also said that the operation of RAB will continue against those who store these illegal and unlicensed adulterated drugs.
