After standing for about three hours, the agitators moved from Chattogram's New Market. After that the traffic started becoming normal.
They left around 5:30 pm on Saturday (August 3). Then march towards GEC via Tigerpass. Before that, they held one of the biggest gatherings in Chattogram's history at New Market Junction.
On the surface, it can be seen that people and people are everywhere at the New Market intersection. As the time of the rally started from 3 pm on Saturday, the crowd of people kept increasing. The rally spread to Amtali in the north, Chattogram railway station in the west and Kotwali Thana junction in the east. In addition to the assembly students, various classes and professions, teachers of various Universities were also seen. They raised slogans about their position there. Coordinators spoke at the roundabout.
Earlier on Saturday, the agitators gathered at New Market Junction from half past two. Due to the location of the agitators, traffic was stopped on all five sides of the intersection. However, no member of the law enforcement force was seen in the vicinity. The Sadargate of the nearby Kotwali police station was also closed.
Earlier on Thursday (August 2) night, the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Chattogram called for a protest march and rally at 3 pm on Saturday in protest of the killing of the peaceful movement of students across the country and for realizing 9-point demands.
