After being in power for 16 years, Awami League president Sheikh Hasina resigned in the face of protests and left the country. Already, the plane carrying Sheikh Hasina has landed in the capital of India, New Delhi, according to the report of the country's media India Today.

The Indian media reported on Monday (August 5) quoting their own sources that Sheikh Hasina's plane landed at the Hindon Airbus of the army in Ghaziabad, New Delhi at 5:36 local time. Indian army officials welcomed her. She will leave for London from there.

Earlier, after resigning from power, Sheikh Hasina arrived in Agartala, India along with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana in a military helicopter from Bangabhaban today after 2.30 pm.

Sheikh Hasina's son Sajib Wazed Joy lives in the United States. On the other hand, daughter Saima Wazed Puthul lives in Delhi, India.

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman addressed the nation at around 4:30 PM after holding talks with major political parties and prominent individuals after Hasina's resignation.

In a short speech, he said, we will form an interim government and conduct the activities. All murders will be tried accordingly.
