He was supposed to come to the Rajarbagh Police Line to discuss the demands of the protesting policemen on Friday (August 9) at 3 pm after assuming charge. But he did not come even after 4 hours. Newly appointed IG of Police Maynul Islam came under fire of the protesting policemen as the advisor of the Ministry of Home Affairs did not come. The IGP failed in trying to suppress the agitators in various ways.

Later, he announced the implementation of 11 points to the protesting policemen at the venue. He also assured to return the job of the policemen fired for political reasons and to consider the employment of those against whom departmental cases are pending. A committee has been formed to implement the demand.

Talking to some police officers present in Rajarbagh, it is known that the advisor of the Ministry of Home Affairs did not come among the protesting police due to security reasons.
