Anti-discrimination student movement will hold 'Martyr’s March' at 3 pm

Dhaka: On the occasion of one month anniversary of the fall of the Awami government, the anti-discrimination student movement will hold a Martyr’s March program across the country today (Thursday, September 5) in memory of those killed in police firing. The program will start centrally from Raju Bhaskarya at 3 pm.

Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of the organization, announced this program in a press conference at Dhaka University's TSC on Wednesday (September 4).

He said, starting from Raju Bhaskarya, this Martyr’s March will end by going to Central Shaheed Minar via New market, Manik Mia Avenue, Karwan Bazar and Shahbagh. Besides, the March program will be started from Friday (September 6) to the divisional and district towns across the country.

Coordinator Sarjis Alam said at the press conference, "We think this is the time to remember those who gave their chests in front of the bullets." That is why we will hold a martyr's march across the country on the occasion of the one month anniversary of the fall of Sheikh Hasina government on Thursday. All the families of the martyrs are invited to participate in this. We want tomorrow also, the mass tide of students will descend across the country.

He said, the blood stain has not dried yet. Still our brothers are moaning with scars on their bodies. Request to the media to document how our brothers were killed. Many people are asking us to march for victory. But until the new Bangladesh is being built, until the people get their rights back, it is not possible to hold a victory march.

Besides, Coordinator Abu Baker Majumdar, Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah spoke at the press conference.
