Journalists Shyamal Dutta and Mozammel Babu have been arrested. Currently they are in Dhobaura police station of Mymensingh.
Shyamal Dutta was the editor of Dainik Bhorer Kagaj and general secretary of Jatiya Press Club. On the other hand, the Mozammel Babu was the Managing Director of Ekattar TV and also chief of Editors' guild.
It is learned that local people caught them. Mahbubur Rahman, a senior reporter of Ekattar Television and driver Salim were also detained with them.
They were going towards the border with a private car. Later on Sunday (September 15) night, they were caught by the local people from the border area.
Earlier, Shyamal Dutt, editor of daily Bhorer Kagaj was detained by immigration police while traveling to India with his family.
On August 6 around 3 pm, he tried to enter India with his family through Akhaura International Immigration Checkpost in Brahmanbaria. At that time the inspector in charge of Akhaura International Immigration Police barred them.
Shyamal Dutt entered the immigration with his wife and daughter. The Special Branch (SB) of the police informed that he was barred from leaving the country. Then Shyamal Dutt was sent back from immigration along with his wife and daughter.
