Army officers got Magisterial powers

The government has given magistracy powers to the commissioned officers of the Bangladesh Army for the next two months. The empowered army officers will perform their duty under the supervision of the concerned District Magistrate.

This information was given in a notification signed by Jeti Pru, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, on Tuesday (September 17) by order of the President.

Director of Inter-Army Public Relations Department Lt. Col. Sami Ud Daula Chowdhury confirmed the matter and said, "We have been given this order, we will act accordingly."

According to the notification, the officers empowered by the Army Executive Magistrate according to CrPC of 1898 sections 64, 65, 83, 84, 86, 95(2), 100, 105, 107, 109, 110, 126, 127, 128, 130, 133 and The offenses under section 142 can be taken into consideration.
