Dr. Yunus wants the cooperation of foreign friends in this new successful journey

The Chief Advisor of the Interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus asked for the cooperation of foreign friends in the new journey of Bangladesh on the way to a happy and prosperous future. He said, they do not want to miss the opportunity to build a new Bangladesh.

Local time on Tuesday (September 24) evening in New York in a reception on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Dr. Muhammad Yunus said these things

The Chief Adviser said, our job is to reform. We have to start well. We need your support to implement this.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bangladeshs’ membership of the United Nations General Assembly, the representatives of the participating countries attended the reception organized by Bangladesh. Bangladesh became a full member of the United Nations on 17 September 1974.

The Chief Adviser was also present at the reception - Foreign Affairs Advisor Tauhid Hossain, Energy Adviser Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Ambassador Muhammad Abdul Muhith, SDG Chief Coordinator Lamia Morshed, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, Additional Foreign Secretary Riaz Hamidullah, Deputy - Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar and Apoorba Jahangir.

Along with Professor Yunus, photographer, writer, curator and activist Shahidul Alam unveiled two books written on the events of the student-led popular uprising.

Remembering the sacrifice of the students, Professor Yunus said, the entire nation is united today. We do not want to disappoint those who dreamed of a new Bangladesh.

Professor Yunus noted that the students have invited him to lead the interim government until elections are held after implementing the reform agenda. He said, this is a very significant year for us. It was brought by the youth of Bangladesh.

Earlier, the United Nations felicitated Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus for attending the UN General Assembly session and marking 50 years of relations.

Gwen Lewis, the resident coordinator of the United Nations in Dhaka, said in a post on social media X that the my best wishes to Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus for joining the General Assembly. This year Bangladesh is celebrating 50 years of association with the United Nations.
