The United States has announced about 200 million or 20 crore dollars in aid for the Rohingya.

Azra Zeya, the US Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights announced this in a meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York on Tuesday (September 24) local time.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide 12 crore 90 lakh dollars in aid. And the US State Department will give 7 crore dollars.

This information was given in a statement published by the United States Department of State and the State Department.

New funding for the Rohingya in the region includes 7 crore dollars through the US State Department's Office of Population, Refugees and Immigration, the statement said. And out of the 12.9 crore dollars dollars that USAID will give, 7 crore 80 lakh will be given by the Agricultural Credit Agency. Funds from the Commodity Credit Agency will distribute food purchased from US farmers to Rohingya refugees and local communities in Bangladesh.

It should be noted that since 2017, the amount of US aid to Rohingya regionally has reached more than 250 crore dollars. Of this, more than 210 crore dollars have been given to Bangladesh.
