Six detained in the murder of Lt. Tanzim

Bangladesh Army has arrested six people involved in the death of Army Lieutenant Tanzim sarwar Nirjan (23) in Cox's Bazar's Chakaria.

This information was informed in a press release sent by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday (September 25).

The arrested are - Md. Babul Prakash (44), Md. Helaluddin (34), Md. Anwar Hakim (28), Md. Arifullah (25), Md. Ziabul Karim (45) and Md. Hussain (39).

Babul Prakash, who was arrested, gave a preliminary confession that he fatally stabbed Lt. Tanzim.

According to the notification, 2 local firearms, 11 different rounds of ammunition, a knife used in the murder, a pickup and a motorcycle were seized from the killers.

According to ISPR, Lieutenant Tanzim Sarwar of Bangladesh Army was martyred at around 3 am on September 24 while conducting an anti-robbery operation based on intelligence in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar.

Bangladesh Army arrested 6 people involved in the incident by conducting a combing operation in that area. Among the detainees Md. Babul Prakash is the main financier of this incident.

During preliminary interrogation, the detainees said that 4 of them were directly involved in the crime and the other two helped by providing information.

Among the arrested, the second in command of the robbers Helaluddin, driver Anwar Hakim, armed member Arifullah and the informant Ziabul Karim and Md. Hossain admitted their direct involvement in the incident.

ISPR also said that the operation of the Bangladesh Army is continuing to arrest other members of the bandits.
