Naryanganj: The fire in the masala patti of Kalir Bazar in Narayanganj city has finally been brought under control.

On Sunday (06 October) at 11:30 p.m., the fire broke out in the number one street of the market. At least 30 shops were gutted in the fire. On receiving the information, five units of two fire service stations brought the fire under control in one and a half hours.

Fakharuddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that the first fire broke out in a spice shop in the first lane of the market. Then the fire spread to at least 30 shops, including grocery shops, egg shops, plastic shops and hardware shops.

At that time, hundreds of people including residents of nearby buildings came out on the streets. On receiving the news, five units of Mandalpara and Hajiganj stations of fire service started extinguishing the fire. After an hour and a half of their efforts, the fire was brought under control at 1 am. No casualties were reported in the fire. However, a fire service worker was injured while trying to extinguish the fire. Apart from this, the official also said that the origin of the fire, how many shops were on fire and the amount of damage will be known after the investigation.
