Gunfire heard at border, BSF took away businessman’s body

A shooting incident took place at the Dhobaura border in Mymensingh. After this incident, it is learnt that the BSF has taken away the body of a drug dealer named Rezaul Karim (26).

The deceased Rezaul Karim is the son of Abdu Sattar of Narayanpur village in Sherpur district.

The incident took place near 1139/9 S pillar in the Digalbagh border area of Munshipara BGB camp in Dakshin Maijpara union of the upazila on Thursday (October 24) at around 9 pm.

Naik Subedar Hazrat Ali of Munshapara BGB camp confirmed the matter on Friday (October 25) night.

Sources said that the deceased Rezaul Karim is a medicine drug dealer. He entered India that day to bring medicines at low prices. Locals heard loud gunfire at the border at 9 pm that day. Later that night, Rezaul Karim did not return.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhobaura Police Station Md. Al Mamun Sarkar said, we have heard about the killing on the border through various means. We have come to know from the news that according to the BGB zone, the incident took place on the border of Durgapur upazila of Netrokona district.

Naik Subedar Hazrat Ali of Munshapara BGB camp said, the deceased Rezaul Karim illegally entered India. He died there. The BSF has given us a letter. The letter did not mention the cause of death or why he entered India. We will send a letter on Saturday. However, there is no opportunity to bring the body through our camp area.

He also said that higher officials will take a decision on this matter.
