Zainul Abedin Faruk, adviser to the party's chairperson, has said that the masterminds of the July movement are Tarique Rahman, BNP and the 12-party alliance.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the Bangladesh LDP representative meeting at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Sunday (October 27) afternoon.
Stating that efforts are being made to create a political crisis, Zainul Abedin Faruk said, "We, the leaders of the anti-discrimination movement, were on the streets. The masterminds were Tarique Rahman, BNP and the 12-party alliance."
Addressing Dr. Yunus, the chief adviser to the interim government, he said, "We have immense faith in you. To keep that faith, we should discuss with the political parties and announce the election date quickly."
Stating that he does not want an election commission like the Awal Commission, Zainul Abedin Faruk said, "A commission that wakes up and announces the results. We want an election that will be held on the day of the election, not at night."
He further said, we think that another reactionary group is trying to muddy the current political scenario of Bangladesh. An indication of this is the attempt to create another political crisis in front of Bangabhaban.
Addressing Sheikh Hasina, this BNP leader said, you have emptied the chests of many mothers. That is why you have left the anti-discrimination student movement. You have plotted to make Bangladesh a state of India while in power until 2040. How can the Modi government of India shelter the murderer of thousands of Bangladeshis is the question of the people of Bangladesh.
The newly elected president of Bangladesh LDP, Shahadat Hossain Selim, said, many are dreaming of coming to power by creating a constitutional vacuum, we will not let that happen. We want an election; we have fought for the election for 15 years. You have no right to touch the constitution, if you touch it, the situation will be very miserable.
