Two teachers and seven officials and employees of Rangpur's Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) have been suspended for their involvement in the murder of Abu Sayeed.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shawkat Ali confirmed the matter at a press conference after the 108th syndicate meeting on Monday (October 28) afternoon. At the same time, all kinds of politics have been banned in the university.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shawkat Ali said that a separate case will be filed in court by the university administration against those involved in the murder of Abu Sayeed. Two teachers and seven officials and employees of the university involved have been suspended. The remaining 72 students will be taken to court for breach of discipline according to the university's law. There are three categories here. Those whose studies have ended will be sued. But those whose studies are ongoing will be sued and their academic expulsion will be imposed. The disciplinary board will decide who will be given what kind of academic punishment.

He further said, according to the university gazette, no teacher, officer or employee can be involved in politics. If anyone is involved, action will be taken against him. Now you can ask questions, I do not have the answer to that, it has been happening on campus for a long time. But now if we get it, we will take action in light of the gazette.

The Vice Chancellor said, it has been decided to temporarily suspend all the teachers, officers and employees who are absent from work except for leave and deduct their salaries and allowances. The Syndicate Board has given me the responsibility for that.

Meanwhile, in view of the students' demands, in order to supervise and control the moral and academic discipline of university teachers, officers, employees and students, extortion, tender bidding, hall seat trading and squatting student politics will be banned on the Begum Rokeya University campus, the Vice Chancellor said.
