Chief Adviser to felicitate SAFF-winning women footballers today

Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will felicitate the Bangladesh women's football team, which returned home after winning the SAFF title for the second consecutive time, on Saturday (November 2).

The press wing of the Chief Adviser said that the reception will be held at the State Guest House Jamuna at 11 am.

Bangladesh defeated host Nepal 2-1 in the SAFF Championship final on Wednesday (October 30) to win the title. The SAFF-winning team returned home on Thursday (October 31).

The champions arrived in Bangladesh at noon. After other formalities, the Sabinas were taken to the BFF building in Motijheel in an open-top bus.

The Sabinas reached the BFF building at 7 pm. Later, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan paid a courtesy call on the SAFF winners. At that time, the adviser presented a dummy check of Tk. one crore as a financial reward on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Later, the Youth and Sports Adviser told reporters, "Our ministry is providing T. one crore to the women. The Honorable Chief Adviser will meet the women's team on Saturday. We are partners in the development of women's football."
