Dhaka: New issuance and re-issuance of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) cards for fast public transport Metrorail travel has begun.
This information was given on the verified Facebook page of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the Metrorail operating company, at around 8 pm on Sunday (November 3).
It said, 'From today, Sunday (November 3), the MRT card re-issue registration and re-issue service of Metrorail has been resumed. Thank you for your cooperation.'
Earlier on Friday (November 1) evening, DMTCL said that new registration of MRT passes is temporarily closed. The DMTCL verified Facebook page informed that due to unavoidable circumstances, the card registration and re-issuance facility will be closed until November 7. We sincerely apologize for the temporary inconvenience.
It is understood that MRT pass registration is temporarily closed to update and integrate information and improve security measures.
