Jhalakathi: In Jhalakathi-1 (Rajapur-Kantalia) constituency, allegations have been received that the car of former Awami League MP and former BNP leader Major (retd.) Shahjahan Omar was vandalized. Later, when he took shelter at his residence in Rajapur, the police took him into custody.
On Thursday (November 21) morning, his car was attacked in the Pingri area on his way from Barishal to Rajapur in Jhalakathi.
In this regard, Jhalakathi Superintendent of Police Ujjwal Kumar Roy said that former MP Shahjahan Omar has been taken into custody at the police station. Details will be announced later.
Earlier, miscreants attacked Shahjahan Omar's house in Godownghat area yesterday evening, November 20. Three glass panes on the outside of the house were broken due to the miscreants' brick-throwing.
