Senakunja is proud to welcome BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia after a long time, said Chief Adviser to the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
He said this in his speech at a reception organized on the occasion of Armed Forces Day 2024 at Senakunja in Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday (November 21) afternoon.
Dr. Yunus said, Begum Khaleda Zia, wife of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, has come here. She has not had the opportunity to come for a long time. We are proud to be able to give this opportunity. Thank you again for being with everyone on this special day despite her long illness. I wish you a speedy recovery.
The BNP Chairperson sat in the seat reserved for guests at the evening reception given by the Chief Adviser. Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus sat next to her.
After exchanging greetings with the guests, the chief adviser took his seat and exchanged greetings with Begum Khaleda Zia. A smiling Khaleda Zia was seen speaking at the time.
BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia attended a ceremony at Senakunja after a long period of time. This is the first time she has attended a public event since 2018.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence Firoza at around 3:30 pm and reached Senakunja at around 3:45 pm.
