The gayebana Janaza of the slain lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, who was killed in the protests surrounding the denial of bail to Sanatan Jagran Mancha spokesperson Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in Chattogram, was held at Dhaka University (DU).
The Janaza was held in front of the anti-terrorism Raju statue at around 9:45 pm on Tuesday (November 26). The Janaza was organized by the Dhaka University Students Association of Lohagara-Satkania.
Dhaka University students participated in the Janaza. In addition, leaders and activists of various organizations including Inquilab Mancha, Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, Islami Chhatra Andolan, Swadhin Bangladesh Chhatra Sangsad also participated with them.
After the Janaza, the students took out a protest procession to the VC's premises. During this time, they demanded a ban on ISKCON.
Earlier, Saiful Islam Alif was killed in an attack by ISKCON supporters demanding the release of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Jote spokesperson Principal Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in Chattogram. The incident took place on the road in front of the Chattogram Court building on Tuesday (November 26) afternoon.
