The University administration has suspended 5 teachers, 6 officials and an employee of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on charges of actively obstructing the anti-discrimination student movement and getting recruited illegally.
This information was revealed by the University's public relations and information wing on Thursday (November 28) afternoon.
The source said that the decision was taken at the University's 94th syndicate meeting held on November 21 after initial allegations of actively obstructing the anti-discrimination student movement, being directly involved in general student-teacher torture at various times, being actively involved in spreading political influence and violating Section 44 (5) of the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Act, 2003 were found.
The temporarily suspended teachers are: Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder, Professor of Civil Engineering Department Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, Professor of Physics Department Dr. Shibendra Shekhar Sikder, Professor of Mechanical Department Dr. Sobhan Mia and Professor of Computer Science Engineering Department Dr. Pintu Chandra Shil.
The officers and employees are: Deputy Registrar Nimai Chandra Mistry, Deputy Registrar Debashish Mandal, Assistant Director (Public Relations and Information Branch) Manoj Kumar Majumder, Assistant Comptroller G.M. Abu Sayeed, Assistant Programmer Md. Omar Farooq, Assistant Technical Officer Md. Mehedi Hasan Rajan, Office Assistant Satyajit Kumar Dutta.
