Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has agreed with BNP's demand for creating national unity in the larger interest of the country.

On Thursday (November 28) evening, the party's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this in response to a question from journalists after a meeting with Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said about national unity, the recent events in the country were discussed. In the discussion, we agreed that we must move forward with all the people of the country. Those involved in activities against the country's interests must be brought under the law. For this, national unity is to be built. I urge the countrymen to be unanimous in the national interest, regardless of religion, caste, party or opinion.

Asked whether there was any discussion about the election, he said, there was no discussion about the election today. But as we said earlier, there is a demand for holding early elections after certain reforms.

When asked about his position on the talk of banning ISKCON from various quarters, he said, action should be taken not only against ISKCON but also against those who take a stand against national interests.

He said, I spoke to the chief adviser about the current situation in the country. Discussions were held on how to move towards elections through a program while maintaining peace and order in the country in the future. In addition, discussions were held on how to create national unity in the country regardless of religion and caste, and how to speed up the administration.

Regarding the rise in commodity prices, the Jamaat Ameer said, people are suffering due to the high prices of goods. Discussions were held to alleviate this. We have consulted on this issue so that unscrupulous traders cannot create an artificial crisis as the month of Ramadan is coming.
