A political government may come to the country next year, said Planning, Finance and Education Adviser Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud.
He said this at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies’ (BIDS) Annual Development Conference at a hotel in Gulshan on Saturday (December 7) morning.
The planning adviser said, we are a very short-lived government. And the issue of a political government coming next year is my personal opinion. I don't know what will actually happen. We may see a political government next year.
Citing economic and income inequality as a major concern at the moment, the adviser said, 'Quality education is needed to eliminate inequality, from which Bangladesh is far away.'
Wahiduddin said that Bangladesh no longer has the opportunity to remain in the ranks of least developed countries, 'However, discussions are ongoing to continue the facilities and benefits received from developed countries. Many countries have responded positively.'
