The Press Wing of the Chief Adviser has said that the news of the Indian media about the deployment of drones in the border area of India's West Bengal is false and fabricated.

This information was given in a post from the verified Facebook page of the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser at around 1:30 pm on Saturday (December 7).

It said that the news of the Indian media about the deployment of drones on the border is false and fabricated.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said that Bangladesh has not deployed any drones in any part of the country except for its routine activities. This news is part of the ongoing false campaign against Bangladesh.

Earlier, an online India Today report, citing sources, said that Bangladesh has deployed a Turkish-made drone near West Bengal, India. Based on such news, India is strengthening surveillance on the Bangladesh border.

It said that the mercury of tension between Dhaka and Delhi is now at its peak after the fall of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. India is reeling under intelligence reports that tensions along the border could escalate further after Hasina's fall.

Sources claimed that Bangladesh has deployed an unmanned UAV drone named Bayraktar TB-2, made in Turkey, near the Indian border. Delhi is verifying this. Based on intelligence reports, India Today said that these drones deployed on the border are operated by the Bangladesh Army for intelligence gathering and surveillance missions.

A senior Indian intelligence official told India Today that they are quite concerned about Hasina's fall because anti-India elements have become active in the border area after her fall. The official said that Delhi will have to take a more cautious stance regarding such political unrest and the deployment of drones on the border.
