A passenger bus lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road in Chauddagram, Cumilla, killing 3 people. At least 8 more passengers were injured in the incident.
The accident occurred at 11 am on Sunday (December 15) in the Padua area of Chauddagram on the Dhaka-Chattagram highway.
Confirming the matter, Jasim Uddin, in-charge of the Miabazar Highway Police Outpost, said that a Dhaka-bound Hanif Paribahan passenger bus lost control in the Padua area in the morning and hit a tree. The front part of the bus was badly twisted.
He said that the identities of the deceased have not been known yet. Police have recovered the bus from the scene. The injured have been sent to Chauddagram Health Complex. Two seriously injured have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
