Haj registration extended till March 28

Dhaka, (Barta24.com): The final registration date for the privately managed Haj intenders has been extended till March 28. A circular to this effect will be published soon from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Secretary General of Haj Agencies Association of Bangladesh(HAB), organization of privately managed Haj affairs M. Shahdat Hossain Taslim has confirmed the time extension information.

Earlier the registration of privately managed Haj intenders began and the cut off date was March 10. But the registration was not satisfactory that led to the extension of registration date till March 21. Still the registration is not up to expectation so the time has been extended till March 28.

During this time the intenders will get registration facilities up to 4 Lakh 79 thousand 815 serial.

It is learnt from the Ministry of Religious Affairs that so far 5931 intenders have registered under government arrangement. More 885 will get chance in this quota. Vouchers of 138 intenders for registration are still pending. 6400 passports have been submitted for verification.

So far under private arrangements 63 thousand 798 persons have registered while more 52 thousand 948 persons will get chance. For registration so far 7769 vouchers are pending while 87056 passports have been submitted for verification.

The biggest Muslim congregation, one of the five pillars of Islam Haj, will be held in Makkha on August 10 subject to the sight of Moon. In ensuing Haj about 127198 Muslims are likely to perform Haj. Of them there will be 7198 under government arrangement while 120000 persons will perform Haj under private arrangements.

Under government package number 1, the cost has been fixed at Taka 418000.00; package 2, the amount is Taka 344000.00. Under the private arrangement the lowest package has been fixed at Taka 345800.00.
