Dhaka (Barta24.com): Railway Minister Advocate Nurul Islam Sujan said today that in the next mid April the Apps for selling train tickets will be inaugurated.
A meeting of all the stakeholders was held on Sunday (March24) at Rail Bhavan regarding digital ticketing apps. After the meeting the Railway Minister told this to the journalists.
The Minister said to check the black-marketing of train tickets we made arrangements for selling tickets on production of NID cards and we got positive results. The sufferings of the passengers have minimized. So we made production NID cards at the counter mandatory before Eid ul Fitr. This will help minimizing black marketing of tickets. For this purpose there is preparation to develop Apps. In the mid April the App will be inaugurated. The passengers will be able to collect their tickets taking the help of Apps for seven intercity trains.
Addressing the App developers the Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said that still many people do not use android or smart phones. So there will be also arrangement of counter selling after producing NID cards. The menu of available food will be in the Apps.
State Minister for Information and Communication told in the meeting that to check black marketing, to minimize the sufferings the App is being developed. The passenger will get hassle free ticket purchasing facilities. In the App there are some suggestions of Railway Minister which will be added in the App. We expect that by using technology the train passengers will get services of the government in true sense. The high officials of the Railway Ministry were present in the meeting.
