Dhaka,(Barta24.com): A team of detective branch (DB) police, Dhaka North division arrested the staff of the bus ‘Suprovat Paribahan’ for killing Bangladesh University of Professionals student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury. The police also unearthed the mystery of the accident that caused the premature death of the meritorious student.
On Wednesday (March 27) in a press conference held at the Dhaka city media center of police, Additional police commissioner and DB chief Abdul Baten informed this in details.
On the basis of intelligence report, a DB team of North Cantonment, the accused bus driver Yasin Arafat and helper Md. Ibrahim were arrested from a brick kiln in Chandpur.
Regarding the unearthing of the mystery of Abrar’s accident the DB chief told that on last March 19 that the Suprovat bus (Dhaka Metr-BA-11-4135) earlier over ran a student. A case was filed with Gulshan police. Next the main driver of the bus was arrested. The arrested driver was brought to remand for interrogation.
It was revealed from the interrogation that the killer bus on that day leaving Victoria Park over ran a female student Synthia Sultana Mukta of Mirpur Ideal girls college while crossing Shahajadpur Bashtala. Mukta was grievously injured.
For that accident the passengers handed over the driver Sirajul to traffic police. The people might damage the bus in this fear the owner instructed helper Yasin Arafat to drive away the bus for leaving the place of occurrence. At that time Abrar was crushed under the wheel of the fleeing bus.
Primarily police thought that driver Sirajul caused the accident of Abrar so he was taken to remand.
The Police official told the press men that within two weeks, the charge- sheet of this case will be submitted. Moreover the owner of the bus is under the scanner of police now.
